The death of a Kennebec County man whose body was found in his apartment on Tuesday night appears to be accidental, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The exact cause of death of Robert Wade, 25, of Oakland, was not announced on Wednesday as state police continue their investigation.

McCausland said Oakland police found Wade’s body after a relative asked them to check on him and an autopsy was conducted on Wednesday.

Police are seeking information from anyone who had contact with him in the past few days after Wade’s car was located Wednesday afternoon at another location in Oakland. Anyone with information should call Maine State Police at 207-624-7076 or Oakland police at 207-465-2202.
