The Maine Department of Health and Human Services office in Rockland will be closed Monday for a thorough cleaning and sanitizing after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus.
DHHS officials said the department learned about the test result Sunday.
Officials said the affected employee last worked out of the Rockland office nearly two weeks ago. The employee’s job does not involve visiting clients at their homes or significantly engaging with the public.
The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention is identifying people in close contact with the employee, officials said, and advising them on appropriate precautions, including whether testing is necessary.
The DHHS Rockland office is expected to reopen Tuesday.
