Camden Harmon scored 18 of his team-high 21 points during the second half Monday as third-seeded Greenville defeated No. 6 Pine Tree Academy of Freeport 52-37 in a Class D South boys basketball quarterfinal at the Augusta Civic Center.

The Lakers improved 10-9 and play No. 2 Rangeley in a 10 a.m. semifinal contest on Wednesday.

Rangeley (16-3) defeated No. 6 Vinalhaven 53-46 in Monday’s second game.

Pine Tree Academy finished the season at 9-10.

Greenville held a scant 22-20 halftime lead in its quarterfinal before Harmon got hot. The senior forward knocked down four 3-pointers for 12 points in the third quarter alone as coach Joe Pelletier’s Lakers outscored Pine Tree Academy 18-6 to extend their lead to 40-26.

Senior guard Jack Morehouse added 17 points for Greenville while backcourt mate Chris Caiazzo added seven points.

Chris Amisi scored 21 points and Riquerne Morales added 13 for Pine Tree Academy.
