FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The No. 5 Fort Fairfield Tigers defeated the No. 12 Penobscot Valley Howlers, 70-53 Wednesday evening in a Class C North preliminary contest.
With the victory, the Tigers (13-6) advance to the quarterfinals where they will face No. 4 George Stevens Academy (17-2) in a quarterfinal at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, fresh off a victory against Bucksport on Tuesday night.
