Caribou police are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting that sent a man to the hospital.

Police are searching for Adrian Covington, 39, who they suspect is connected to the shooting on River Road in Caribou that police said left a man with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

On Saturday afternoon, Caribou police said officers had located a white 2003 Chevy Tahoe with Maine veteran license plate 6094A2 that they believed Covington had been driving.  They believe he is still in northern Maine.

Police said Covington and the victim knew each other.

Police described him as a heavy set black man who is 6-foot-1.

The public has been advised not to approach Covington if they encounter him, but call the Caribou Police Department at 207-493-3301 or 911.
