Watch Mainers ring in the new year

Throughout the state, Mainers celebrated the change in year — and decade.

In Bangor, dozens gathered in West Market Square to continue the annual tradition of watching a large beach ball, which is covered in lights, get tossed off the roof of Paddy Murphy’s. Despite the snow and cold temperatures brought on by a New Year’s Eve storm, people still gathered to celebrate a new decade.
