Concord Coach Lines service to Wiscasset was due to resume at a new stop Wednesday after more than six months with no bus service to the town.
The new bus stop is at the Irving Circle K on Bath Road, according to Concord Coach Lines. The old stop was at Huber’s Market on Bath Road.
Concord Coach Lines suspended service Jan. 7 without a clear explanation, although representatives of the bus line and the town speculated that the decision had to do with inadequate snow removal.
A developer plans to demolish Huber’s Market and build a Dollar General store in its place.
The new stop in Wiscasset will not offer ticket sales. Riders must either buy a ticket at concordcoachlines.com and print it out, or present their ID and buy a ticket at the next stop.
The pickup and drop-off times are the same as in the past. Southbound departures are at 9:50 a.m. and 1:50 p.m., northbound at 3:10 p.m. and 8:35 p.m.
Dana Knapp, Maine Division manager for Concord Coach Lines, said he is pleased the company is able to offer service in Wiscasset again and thankful Circle K has agreed to allow buses to stop there.
