The woman found dead Monday afternoon pinned to a tree by a car in Eddington was Peggy A. Moro, 79, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

She was found when deputies were called to the scene at Country Pines Way on private property about 12:30 p.m., Chief Deputy William Birch said.

Moro was a resident of Eddington but information on who owned the property where she died was not made public. The sheriff’s office has not released the address where the incident happened, either.

Deputies continue to investigate, Birch said.

Correction: A previous version of this story misstated Moro’s town of residence.
