A Livermore man was killed in a crash involving two motorcycles and a car in Turner on Friday afternoon, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Matthew Houle, 32, was killed after his motorcycle was struck by a car driven by 67-year-old Diane Boutin of Turner. Turner was traveling south on Route 4 when her car crossed over the centerline, coming into the path of the two motorcycles, McCausland said.
A second motorcyclist, 31-year-old Ashley Hinkley of Livermore, also collided with the car and suffered serious injuries. Hinkley is being treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for multiple injuries, McCausland said.
The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 4 and Upper Street.
This is the 11th motorcycle death on Maine roads this year. In 2018, there were 22 motorcycle deaths in the state, McCausland said.
Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
