In a battle between two low-seeded teams, No. 13 Madison emerged victorious after pulling away from No. 12 Traip Academy of Kittery in the second half to win 50-35 Tuesday at the Augusta Civic Center in a C South quarterfinal match.

Madison’s record improves to 7-13 for the season. Traip’s season ends with a 8-12 record.

Both teams made a surprising appearance in the quarterfinal with their respective upset preliminary wins.
