Four people were injured early Monday morning after a pickup truck struck a tractor-trailer in Skowhegan.
The Waterville Morning Sentinel reports that a Red Chevy pickup truck driven by William Cole Sr., 46, of Solon was traveling north on Madison Avenue about 12:30 a.m. when it struck a tractor-trailer driven by 54-year-old Norman Hawley of Madison as the 18 wheeler turned onto Madison Avenue from Jewett Street.
Cole was taken to the hospital along with James Tindall, 55, of New Portland; Dean Folco, 26, of Rhode Island; and William Cole, 24, of Solon, who were passengers in his Chevy, the Sentinel reports. Another passenger, 24-year-old Dysla Wilkin of Johnston, Rhode Island, was not taken to the hospital.
Hawley, the driver of the tractor-trailer, was not injured.
The Skowhegan Police Department is investigating the crash, and the Sentinel reports that neither speed nor alcohol has been ruled out as a contributing factor.
