A donation jar and loose change were reported stolen during a break-in at Warren Community Library last week.

According to Knox County Sheriff Tim Carroll, the assistant librarian noticed Friday morning the front door had been forced open.

The library closed at 8 p.m. Thursday, meaning the break-in could have occurred at any point Thursday night or Friday morning.

No other damage to the library was found. Only a donation jar and loose change on a desk appeared to have been stolen.

Carroll said Deputy Paul Pinkham was able to gather evidence and is handling the investigation.

According to the library’s Facebook page, the library opened later than usual due to the break-in.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at 594-0067.
