A Rhode Island man was arrested Monday evening in connection with the robbery of a Rite Aid pharmacy earlier in the day.

Alexander Angelini, 18, of Barrington, Rhode Island, was apprehended around 4:30 p.m., according to Portland police.

On Monday morning, a man walked up to a pharmacist at the Rite Aid at 713 Congress St. and handed over a note demanding drugs, according to police.

The man then fled with an undisclosed amount of drugs. A weapon was not shown, and no one was hurt, according to police.

Angelini is being held at the Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
