GSA’s fall musical ‘The Pajama Game’

Mrs. Claus is coming to Bucksport

BUCKSPORT — Santa Claus may be coming to town on Thanksgiving, but this year Santa is sending Mrs. Claus ahead of his arrival. Mrs. Claus and her elves will arrive from the North Pole by special escort by Bucksport Police Department at noon Saturday, Nov. 10, at Alamo Theatre, Main Street. Sample Mrs. Claus’ cookies, hear Douglas Coffin read his Christmas story “One Maine Christmas Eve” and meet other authors. Mrs. Claus will carry letters to Santa back to the North Pole. Plus, watch a Mickey Mouse Club short film about Stockton Springs in 1959. There will be a silent auction, raffle, food and more. This fundraiser is organized by Stockton Springs Historical Society. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for teens ages 13-18 and free for children under the age of 12.

United States Sail and Power Squadron boat handling course

SURRY — Penobscot Bay Sail and Power Squadron is offering the new 12-hour Boat Handling Course from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 10 and 17, and Dec. 1 at The Gatherings Community Center, 1208 Surry Road. The course, instructed by Scott Miller, covers rules of the road, docking, anchoring, emergencies, handling underway and more. The course fee is $65. Annual early bird sale and bed races at Bar Harbor

BAR HARBOR — Annual early bird sale and bed races will be held 6 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 10. Hop out of bed early in the morning and wear your pajamas to get the best discounts at local shops in downtown Bar Harbor. Shop from 6 to 9 a.m., then take a break from shopping at 10 a.m. to be entertained by the annual bed and pajama parade. The parade starts at the Village Green and is followed by the 11th annual Bed Races on Cottage Street, in which teams roll decorated beds on wheels down the street to see who can do it fastest.

DownEast Dancers to present ‘Banned From Eden’

ELLSWORTH — DownEast Dancers will present Banned From Eden covering classic rock, R&B, country, blues, reggae, Latin and jazz, plus a growing repertoire of original works, 7:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Downeast Family YMCA, 238 State St. Cost is $10, and $8 for students and seniors.
