Pedro Martinez is forever cemented in Boston Red Sox history after leading them to the 2004 World Series championship and left a legacy that earned him a spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Next month, Maine baseball fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal when Martinez makes a visit to Bangor.
Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket is hosting an appearance by Martinez on Jan. 16, 2018, at Gracie Theater on the campus of Husson University.
The event starts at 7 p.m. and includes two ticket options for fans. The VIP ticket is $125 and includes a meet and greet session with Pedro. It will be followed by a “hot stove” event, moderated by 92.9’s Dale Duff and Bryan Stackpole. The general admission ticket for the hot stove session only is $35.
Some fans will have the opportunity to ask questions of Martinez during the appearance.
Tickets are available online at www.eventelf.com/events/857/tickets/new and in person at Damon’s Beverage at 21 Washington St. in Bangor.
Martinez played for the Red Sox from 1998 to 2004. He won three Cy Young Awards and was an eight-time all star. He finished his career with 3,154 strikeouts and a 2.93 earned run average.
His No. 45 jersey was retired by the Red Sox in 2015, the same year he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
