BDN website’s sports page features new AP ‘Digital News Experiences’

The Bangor Daily News recently entered into an agreement to utilize content from The Associated Press news service. With that arrangement comes some new opportunities for BDN readers to read even more comprehensive sports-related content on our website.

The BDN is offering access to several of AP’s “Digital News Experiences.” These are pre-packaged websites, linked directly to the BDN sports landing page and our story pages, that provide a more detailed look at some of our readers’ favorite sports.

This fall, we are utilizing AP Digital News Experience websites for the National Football League and College Football. We also will be linking to AP packages that feature the National Basketball Association, college basketball, the Winter Olympic games at Pyeongchang, South Korea, and NCAA March Madness.

Online readers can find the AP sports websites on the BDN sports web page at They are text boxes with a list of story links that are located along the right-hand side of the BDN Sports landing page and can be found by scrolling down the page.

The Digital News Experiences also appear on the right-hand side of the page anytime a reader clicks on a story on the BDN sports page.

We hope that these AP features enhance our coverage of local and regional sports by providing you, our readers, a more comprehensive look at some of the most closely followed sports.
