With Election Day looming, the Bangor Daily News is seeking readers’ questions about state and local races on Maine ballots in 2017.

Readers can submit questions about the four issues on the statewide ballot and myriad issues in their cities and towns to the BDN by using the form below. Select questions submitted by day’s end on Wednesday, Nov. 1, will be answered in a story to be published on Sunday, Nov. 5.

Question 1 on the statewide referendum will ask Maine voters if they want to allow a new York County casino.

Question 2 will ask if they want to expand Medicaid under the federal Affordable Care Act.

Question 3 is a $105 million transportation bond.

Question 4 asks voters to ratify a constitutional amendment that would increase the amortization period for state pension losses from 10 years to 20 years.

There are several high-profile local races as well, including a vote on merging the cities of Lewiston and Auburn and two Portland questions asking voters to enact rent control and allow neighbors to have more say in development projects.
