Man arrested in connection with Bucksport shooting that injured two

One man is in jail after a Wednesday night shooting in a Bucksport parking lot that injured two other men.

Police arrested Cory Turcotte, 26, of Bucksport shortly after the shooting and charged him with aggravated assault.

The shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. in an apple orchard parking lot along Route 46, according to Bucksport police Chief Sean Geagan. Police haven’t yet released the identities of the two men who were shot, and Geagan didn’t have an update on their condition as of early Thursday morning. Both injured men are being treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Turcotte and the other two men went to the parking lot for a “pre-arranged meeting,” according to Geagan. The purpose of that meeting is part of the ongoing investigation.

“We’re certain it was an isolated incident and there’s no danger to the public,” Geagan said.

Turcotte is expected to make an initial court appearance either Thursday or Friday.

Maine State Police and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
