Body recovered near Appalachian Trail in Franklin County

By Nick McCrea, BDN Staff

The Maine Warden Service is investigating after a body was discovered in Wyman Township, according to the Waterville Morning Sentinel.

The body was discovered around 4:45 p.m. Sunday. A helicopter arrived Monday morning to lift the body out of the area, according to the Sentinel.

This is near the spot where Appalachian Trail hiker Geraldine Largay last seen alive in 2013. Her disappearance launched a massive search in the area surrounding the trail. Her remains weren’t discovered until two years later.
