WARREN, Maine — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating four burglaries which took place during the past two weeks in the downtown area.
There have been no arrests yet, but Chief Deputy Tim Carroll said Tuesday that a 16-year-old was charged with burglary last month for another incident in which cigarettes and a cellphone were taken from a High Street residence. Carroll said the juvenile is not a suspect in the four burglaries this month.
The burglaries this month were reported on Oct. 5, 18, 19 and 22 on Main Street and the adjacent Georges River Terrace, Carroll said. In each incident, doors to the homes were unlocked. He said the items were ones that were located close to the doors, which police suspect were quick grabs. Goods stolen included a purse with a small amount of cash and credit cards, and medication. A traffic cone and a wheelbarrow also were reported stolen.
