BREWER, Maine — Trey Wood is one of the key players on the Brewer High School football team this season.

The senior tailback and linebacker provides a powerful presence on both sides of the ball for coach Nick Arthers’ team.

Wood, the son of former Orono High School and University of Maine football standout Ray Wood, and Arthers spoke with the Bangor Daily News and SportsNet Maine prior to Friday night’s Class B North game against Mt. Blue of Farmington at Doyle Field.

Wood rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns in Brewer’s 33-2 victory over the Cougars.

The 7 p.m. contest will be live streamed at week, starting with the pregame show at about 6:45 p.m.

Jim Churchill of SportsNet Maine and the BDN’s Ernie Clark will handle the call for the second in a series of seven games scheduled to be streamed live this football season.
