Police investigate death of woman found in Waterville reservoir

WATERVILLE, Maine — Police released the identity of a woman found dead Tuesday in a reservoir at the Brookfield Facility on Water Street.

According to the Waterville Police Department, the woman was 43-year-old Lexxi T Sironen, a transgender woman who had no address but lived in the Waterville area. According to police, she had recently been living along the river bank and associating with other transient people in the area.

Waterville police were called to the scene at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. Maine State Police and Waterville police worked to identify the woman and to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.

The office of the state medical examiner has conducted an autopsy.
