ARUNDEL, Maine — A local woman was taken into custody Saturday afternoon after police allege she stabbed a man in the neck.

Deputies from the York County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence on South Skillings Road in Arundel Saturday afternoon after receiving a call about a stabbing there, according to a post on the York County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. When deputies arrived, they found several people socializing and drinking alcohol.

Deputies determined that Violet Walker, 50, had gotten into an argument with a man and stabbed him in the neck with a pocket knife, according to the Facebook post.

The man was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.

Walker was arrested, and she was charged with aggravated criminal threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.

She was being held at York County Jail in Alfred on $1,000 bail.

She was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
