PORTLAND, Maine — More than 100 Central Maine Power customers lost power Sunday morning after a car struck a utility pole on Washington Avenue in Portland.
Around 11 a.m., police said the pole was hit and split by a car at 1269 Washington Ave. While no one was injured, CMP crews had to replace the pole.
Police said one car left the roadway, hit another car and then struck the pole. Traffic was diverted as Washington Avenue in the area of the accident was closed.
Power was restored before 2 p.m.
