ST. AGATHA, Maine — A local woman escaped serious injury early Tuesday morning when her vehicle left the road, then struck a parked car and garage, according to the Maine State Police.

Kether Martin, 29, of St. Agatha was traveling northbound at a “high rate of speed” on Maine Route 162, near the St. Agatha Town Office when she lost control of her 2001 Honda Accord on a curve, which the car airborne before it hit the parked car and garage, police reported in a news release issued Wednesday.

The driver was having an unspecified “medical emergency” at the time of the crash, according to the release.

Martin, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and was brought by Ambulance Service Inc. to be treated at Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent.
