BANGOR, Maine — Singer Toby Keith is helping to support the creation of a new museum in Maine.

A dollar from every ticket purchased for his July 21 concert at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion on the Bangor Waterfront will go toward the fundraising campaign for the Maine Troop Greeters Museum.

Since 2003, the Maine Troop Greeters have welcomed more than 1.5 million troops going overseas or returning from duty at Bangor International Airport.

These greetings have resulted in a collection of memorabilia consisting of more than 5,000 challenge coins, 1,000 patches, 500 dog tags, flags, banners and many letters of gratitude. The museum will ensure that these items are displayed and preserved for all to appreciate.

According to museum campaign co-chairman Gil Cory, the support and generosity of Keith and those attending the concert will be a big boost to the museum fundraising effort.

The museum will be located at the airport.
