Several thousand customers in southern Penobscot County were briefly without power Tuesday morning.

Central Maine Power reported on its website that just over 3,400 customers were affected by the outage as of 7:30 a.m., with the majority being in Carmel and Levant. Other towns affected by the outage included Corinth, Dixmont, Etna, Exeter, Hermon, Newburgh, Plymouth and Stetson.

The utility reported on its website around 9 a.m. Tuesday that all affected customers were back online.
