BANGOR, Maine — With spring in the air, road and infrastructure work in the city is heating up this week.
Here are a list of projects to keep in mind as you drive to your destinations, courtesy of Bangor Public Works:
— Maine Department of Transportation Union Street Overpass project. Long-term detours and side street closures have been established at the intersections of Union Street and Eddy Way, Beecher Park, Fifteenth Street, Sixteenth Street and Seventeenth Street. There may be 7 p.m. to 7a.m. I-95 lane and ramp closures. Please follow detour signs. Work continues with minor traffic delays. Please watch for flaggers for directions.
— Bangor Water District water line replacement on Union Street from I-95 to Vermont Avenue. Crews will be working in the outbound lane, shifting traffic using cones and flaggers. Please watch for flaggers for directions. Expect minor delays.
— Bangor Water District water line replacement on Hammond Street from Court Street to Union Street. Crews will be working in the outbound lane. Outbound traffic will be detoured out Court Street. Follow detour signs and watch for directions from signs and flaggers. Expect minor delays.
— Bangor Public Works paving preparation on Broadway from Stillwater Avenue to Center Street. Crews will be working on catch basins and manholes. No detours are anticipated. Traffic lanes will be reduced and shifted using cones and flaggers. Watch signs and flaggers for directions.
