NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — A Morse Road home was declared a total loss following a fire Friday evening.

Firefighters went to 454 Morse Road at 6 p.m. Friday and discovered the fire had spread from the garage of the Cape-style home to the home.

Crews knocked down the bulk of the fire within 30 minutes, bringing water by truck from Pineland’s fire hydrant system, according to a news release from the department posted on its Facebook page.

The home, garage and belongings are a total loss, with an estimated value of $450,000, according to the release.

Firefighters from Gray, Windham, Auburn, Poland, Durham, North Yarmouth and Pineland assisted in battling the fire.

No pets were in the home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
