BANGOR, Maine — A Greenbush man was indicted Wednesday by the Penobscot County grand jury on multiple sex charges after allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl, who is now 19.

Lawrence Denning, 48, was indicted on 11 counts of gross sexual assault, two counts of unlawful sexual contact and two counts of unlawful sexual touching.

The victim recently reported the abuse to police, according to Penobscot County District Attorney R. Christopher Almy. The prosecutor said the man knew the victim and the alleged sexaul assaults took place eight years ago in Old Town.

An arraignment date has not been set.

In a separate case, a Levant man with an unusual facial tattoo was indicted on two counts of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and one count each of terrorizing and criminal trespass

Brandon L. Ogden, 32, remained Wednesday at the Penobscot County Jail unable to post $25,000 bail. He was arrested in February at a Brewer apartment after a police standoff, according to a previously published report.

If convicted, Ogden faces up to five years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.
