Police search for Portland man missing since Tuesday

PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police are searching for a 48-year-old man reported missing by family on Wednesday.

Paul Spaltro of Portland is currently unemployed and had been staying at the Motel 6 on Riverside Street, but had not been seen since Tuesday, according to a release from Portland Police Lt. James Sweatt.

Spaltro’s belongings were left behind, and his friends told police that Spaltro “made statements about going to an unknown location in Saco.”

He may be driving an older model silver or tan Lincoln LS four-door sedan with Maine plates 710UQ.

Spaltro is believed to be traveling with his dog.

Although Spaltro usually is in regular and frequent contact with family, efforts by family and the Portland Police Department to locate him have been unsuccessful, police say.

Anyone with information about Spaltro’s whereabouts should call Portland police at 874-8575.
