BANGOR, Maine — A taxicab driver was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by a man and a woman in downtown Bangor on Sunday night, according to police.
The robbery was reported at 8:45 p.m. when the Dick’s Taxi driver reported that he had been held up, Sgt. Tim Cotton said.
The suspects got into the taxi near the intersection of Union and Third streets and exited the vehicle near the Main Street Tavern, according to Cotton.
“There was a physical struggle between the driver and the male suspect,” Cotton said, noting that the cab driver was injured but the injury does not appear to be serious.
The sergeant said the male robber was in possession of a handgun, and both suspects were dressed in dark winter coats, with the hood of the woman’s jacket trimmed with fur.
Anyone with information on the robbery should contact Bangor police Detective Tim Shaw at 947-7384, or use option 6 to access the anonymous tip line.
