PORTLAND, Maine — An Alfred man pled guilty on Thursday to a charge of possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.

Kevin Millette, 43, will be sentenced at a later date, and faces between 10 and 20 years behind bars.

In addition to prison time, Millette also faces between five years and life of supervised release and a fine of $250,000. He has a prior child pornography conviction.

According to court documents, Millette admitted to having child pornography on his phone as police executed a search warrant at his home in November.

Three cellphones and a memory card, including one phone that was in the process of downloading child pornography images, were seized from the residence. Thousands of digital images of child pornography were found.

The case was investigated by the state police’s computer crimes unit team and the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations team.
