PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police said they’re investigating the slashing of tires inside a parking garage.

Investigators said they received six reports of tires being slashed and deflated in the Casco Bay parking garage, but the manager of the garage said there could be more.

“For the customers, this is a fair amount of money,” said Steve Kalisz, general manager of MHR Management, which operates the garage. “One tire, depending on the car and the tires, we’re looking at several hundred dollars, plus the inconvenience.”

Kalisz said they are giving police surveillance video and offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest. He also wants victims to tell police immediately.

“If we don’t know what’s happening, we can’t do anything,” Kalisz said.

Customers hope whoever’s responsible is caught soon.

“I hope they can find a way to protect us from it and find whoever did it and stop it,” said customer Faith York.

Investigators said they have no suspects right now. The garage operators are asking customers to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to them and police.
