PORTLAND, Maine — Portland firefighters responded to an apartment building fire in the city’s West End overnight.

The fire started a little after midnight in a six-family apartment building on Dow Street. Firefighters said the fire started on the second floor. The second and third floors have some fire damage, and the first floor as significant water damage.

The Portland Fire Department said no one was injured, and the fire is not considered suspicious, though they do not yet know the cause.

The owner of the building is helping the tenants find temporary housing.
