GORHAM, Maine — A Buxton man was arrested Thursday night after leading police from multiple agencies in a pursuit, according to Gorham police.

In addition, the vehicle Shaun Webster, 22, was driving had been reported stolen out of Somerset County, according to Gorham police Sgt. Sears Edwards.

Gorham Officer Dean Hannon attempted to stop Webster’s vehicle on Ossipee Trail around 6:20 p.m., but he fled, according to Edwards.

The pursuit rolled through several towns before Webster’s vehicle was disabled in Limington and he taken into custody, Edwards said.

Webster was taken to Cumberland County Jail and charged with eluding an officer, reckless conduct with a motor vehicle and refusing to submit to arrest.

Maine State Police, the York County Sheriff’s Office and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the pursuit.
