BOOTHBAY HARBOR, Maine — Coast Guard officials medically evacuated a 49-year-old man from a fishing boat five miles off of Boothbay Harbor on Monday.

According to a Coast Guard statement, the man, whose name was not disclosed, was in and out of consciousness while aboard a 20-foot commercial fishing boat.

A good Samaritan had radioed the Coast Guard for assistance upon seeing the man.

A Coast Guard rescue boat brought the man to shore where medics were waiting to take him to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.

The man’s fishing boat was towed to Carousel Marina in Boothbay Harbor.
