NEWCASTLE, Maine — Justin DiPietro, father of missing toddler Ayla Reynolds, was arrested on Route 1 in Newcastle and charged with OUI.
Police said the incident happened on Nov. 6 and did not involve an accident.
Ayla was in DiPietro’s care when he reported her missing on Dec. 17, 2011. Investigators who found blood inside the home concluded the child is no longer alive and was a victim of foul play.
Ayla’s mother, Trista Reynolds, believes DiPietro had something to do with Ayla’s disappearance. DiPietro has repeatedly denied these claims.
State police said DiPietro has stopped cooperating with the investigation.
