SANFORD, Maine — Police are searching for the man who robbed the Eastside Convenience store in Sanford Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from the Sanford Police Department.

A man entered the High Street store at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday, brandished a handgun and fled, police said.

The man was dressed in a Boston Bruins black and gold sweatshirt and jeans. He also wore an orange knit hat drawn down over his face with eye holes cut out.

As the suspect fled the scene, he was struck by a vehicle and lost a sneaker, police said.

He then got into a parked white, four-door Ford car, which police said was occupied possibly by two other people, one of whom was a woman, and fled the scene.
