BOOTHBAY HARBOR, Maine — Boothbay police have identified the 25-year-old man whose body was found in the inner harbor near Boothbay Harbor’s footbridge Saturday morning.

Don Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, had been living and working in Boothbay Harbor for the summer months, Police Chief Robert Hasch said Monday in a news release.

Police were called to the scene at 9 a.m., Hasch said. Johnson’s body then was retrieved by police officers and firefighters, he said.

Hasch said that police officers are tracking Johnson’s actions from Friday night by reviewing security camera footage and interviewing witnesses, the chief said.

The state medical examiner’s office is in the process of determining the cause of Johnson’s death.

Anyone with information or concerns about the death may call the police department at 633-5616.
