HERMON, Maine — Families who used their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits for purchases at the Hermon Farmers Market currently can receive the equivalent in vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables, the market’s manager said Friday.

These vouchers can be used at the Hermon market at any time through its season, which this year ends on Oct. 29, Manager Mary Hoskins of Cedar Mill Farm in Exeter said.

The Hermon program is funded through a grant from Wholesome Wave that is administered through the Maine Federation of Farmers Markets. It is open from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays at Danforth’s Plaza on Route 2.
