ACTON, Maine — A barn on Milton Mills Road was destroyed by a fire on Sunday, according to officials.
The 911 call came in about 10 a.m.
Fire crews said part of the house had fire and smoke damage. Officials said someone driving by saw the fire, stopped and called 911.
The woman inside the home didn’t notice that her barn was on fire. She made it out safely.
The daughter of the woman who was inside the home said her mom was shaken but otherwise OK. She said her mother has lived there for 60 years.
It took a few hours to get the fire in the barn under control, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but it doesn’t look suspicious.
The state fire marshal’s office is investigating.
