PORTLAND, Maine — Two people were shot at a recording studio late Monday night in Portland’s Old Port.

According to a release from the Portland Police Department, police were called to Da Block Studios on 371 Fore Street for a report of shots fired just before midnight.

Officers found two people had been shot. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, and police said their names are being withheld pending notification of their families.

Police have no descriptions for the unknown suspects, who were last seen fleeing up Market Street toward Milk Street.

The Maine Attorney General’s Office and Portland Police Department are investigating.

Several streets in the Old Port remain blocked off Tuesday morning. Traffic will be affected for the morning commute.
