AUGUSTA, Maine — Operation Game Thief has increased its reward in connection with multiple deer poaching cases.

Cpl. John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service said the reward has been increased from $2,500 to $3,500 for anyone who can provide information leading to convictions of those responsible for the deaths of four does.

The does were found in Chesterville, Jay, Livermore and Leeds over the course of this spring. In each case, the deer were left to waste after they were killed.

These events have created significant public interest, and Operation Game Thief and the Warden Service dutifully are searching for those responsible.

Anybody with information should contact Operation Game Thief at 1-800-253-7887.
