MACHIAS, Maine — Police called to a domestic violence disturbance on Wednesday night ended up charging a Dennysville woman with drug possession.
Samantha A. Murphy, 21, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, believed to be hydrocodone, according to Machias Police Chief Grady Dwelley.
Police were called at about 10 p.m. April 29 to a Main Street residence to investigate a domestic assault, Dwelley said Friday.
“It was a lengthy on-site investigation,” he said.
None of the parties involved would implicate the others concerning any assault, the chief said.
But during the course of the investigation, the officer got a consent to search and found on Murphy four tablets alleged to be hydrocodone. They have since been sent to the lab for analysis, Dwelley said.
Murphy was taken to Washington County Jail. Dwelley did not know Friday morning if she had been released on bail.
