BIDDEFORD, Maine — A series of armed robberies in Biddeford has come to an end after police say one of the suspects was busted robbing a sub shop 500 yards away from the police station.

The suspect went inside the Super Sub Shop with what looked like a gun and demanded money.

“’Empty the register’ is what he said,” employee Daniel Smith told CBS 13. “He kept looking back at the door to make sure no one was coming.”

He then took off on his bike but police were already on the lookout because the suspect was wanted for other armed robberies.

“Unfortunately we were robbed three times over the course of five days,” said Red Rocket Smoke Shop employee, Nathan Gagne.

Michael Constabile, 25, was caught and arrested.

Police later arrested Justin Haycock, 25, and Erik Robinson, 31, who police say was found at a home on High Street with stolen goods.

Police say the men robbed several local businesses and pizza delivery drivers over the past couple of weeks. Neighbors say the violent spree has them thinking twice about walking around alone.

“Late at night it makes me nervous now because you never know what someone’s going to do,” said Maranda Perkins.

The men were taken to York County Jail.
