BUXTON, Maine — Crews battled a fire at Frugal Farmers in Buxton early Wednesday morning.

The fire started at around 1 a.m. at the family-owned farm located on Rankin Road. Firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 5 a.m.

Owner Bruce Richards says it started near a shed for storage, and then spread all the way out back to one of his greenhouses. He says he’s not sure what started this but he thinks it might have been electrical.

Richards told CBS 13 his dog woke him up in the early morning hours and alerted him to the blaze.
