PORTLAND, Maine — Improvements to runways and taxiways at the Portland International Jetport will be funded with a $2.5 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration.
The grant was announced recently by U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine. The work will rehabilitate almost 57,000 square yards of pavement, according to a press release.
“Portland jetport is a critical transportation gateway for our state, serving everything from major airlines to hundreds of small private aircraft,” said Pingree in a statement. “I’m glad the airport will receive this federal investment to keep its infrastructure in good working order.”
