ORONO — A man discovered a piece of Maine history and now he’s trying to find a good home for it, reports Portland television station WGME, CBS 13.

Mike Pelletier said his father was a photographer at the University of Maine and he died in 2013, leaving behind a collection of photographs. Albert Pelletier’s photograph collection includes images taken of President John F. Kennedy during a visit to UMaine in 1963. Also in the photographs are Maine’s U.S. Sens. Ed Muskie and Margaret Chase Smith.

The Pelletier family would like to give the pictures to a museum, collector, organization, or anyone who wants to give a proper home to the collection.
