‘Guys on Ice’
BANGOR — Penobscot Theatre Company will present “Guys on Ice” Jan. 29 through Feb. 15 at the Bangor Opera House.. Dominick Varney will direct the heartwarming, manly musical starring Ben Layman, Matt Madore, and Scott Raymond Johnson.
Audiences will join two long-time pals in their home away from home, a ramshackle ice-fishing shanty, as they plot to appear on a popular cable TV fishing show; scramble to protect their beer from Ernie the Moocher; and pass the time swapping jokes, playing cards, talking about women — and occasionally breaking into song and dance.
Penobscot Theatre Company will offer a complimentary performance of “Guys on Ice” especially for those affected by the recent mill closure in Bucksport. The special performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Bangor Opera House and is available exclusively to former mill workers and their families. To reserve seats, eligible parties must email firstname.lastname@example.org and provide their names and the number of seats they wish to claim.
